Tips for the Farmers Market

  • Arrive a few minutes early, or right when it opens this allows time to get fresh produce and bread before the lines get really long.
  • create a list. Many times I just head there without any idea of what I’m getting. If you consistently visit the farmers market weekly you will start to know the offerings that are available

Jalapeno Cowboy Baked Beans

Jalapeno Cowboy Baked Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Bacon
  • 1/2 cup Diced Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 4 cans Ranch Style Beans with Jalapenos
  • 2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet Browning and Seasoning Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 1/2 cup Molasses

Instructions
 

  • Cook Bacon until crispy and crumble. keep half of the bacon drippings to sauté onions.
  • Saute diced onions and garlic in half of the bacon bacon drippings until they are tender.
  • Add all ingredients to a croc pot, stir, and cook on low 6-8 hours

Notes

These BBQ beans have a mildly sweet , spicy and savory flavor.  They are not overly sweet like alot of BBQ beans.  The molasses adds a rich flavor and thickens the texture of the beans. The Ranch Style Beans with Jalapenos adds just right kick if you like spicy foods.  The Kitchen Bouquet adds a savory addition to the beans
