A Week in Moorea French Polynesia
We just had a trip of a lifetime in Moorea. Moorea is a South Pacific island in French Polynesia’s Society Islands. The Iconic jagged mountains, sandy beaches, picturesque Bays and South Pacific sunsets are like nothing you could dream of. Here are some of my favorites from the trip:
Fare Suisse Guest house in Tahiti
We flew from San Francisco to Papeete. It was to late to take the ferry to Moorea. I picked This hotel because they picked us up at the airport and took us back to our ferry the next morning. If you want this service ask in advance because I think the van could fill up. The rooms were simple but clean. They also had beer, other drinks and water for sale. There was a nice patio you could set at and you could even order some food items like pizza and fondue. They have a Swiss style breakfast with meats, bread, yogurt Tahitian juice and local jam. We added on the breakfast and it was well we’re worth it. I would pick this hotel again as a layover for the night to our final destination. Here is a LINK to their website
Ferry the next morning we took the ferry from Papeete to Moorea. The ferry was Terevau. There are two different ferry’s you can pick. I purchased our tickets in advance online and printed them out. They were round trip tickets and when I called and asked they told me they were valid for one year. Here is a LINK to the website.
The Avis car rental was located across the street from the ferry terminal in Moorea. I reserved our car ahead of time online at Avis Moorea. Here is a LINK to their website. Ferry’s come in at Vaiare Ferry Terminal and Avis is located across the street.
Hilton Overwater Bungalows
We enjoyed The Hilton Moorea so much it was hard to even leave the grounds of the resort
Crepe Restaurant Toatea is one of the top dinner locations on the island they are only open for dinner and serve sweet and savory crepes. While eating you are usually able to view sharks swimming by which is very exciting
Rotui Bar and Grill at Hilton had a wonderful menu ranging from cheeseburgers, fresh seafood, pasta, salad and exquisite desserts.
Other activities we enjoyed at the Hilton were sunset happy hour, Snorkeling off our bungalow, paddleboards and sea kayaks, koi pond, gorgeous swimming pool, They will arrange activites that are all top notch and they even have a spa
Juice and Rum factory
Snack Mahana for lunch. Get there early because there is always a wait.
Private snorkel trip with Moorea Ocean Adventures. This was a special day and a special adventure everyone could enjoy. Here is a link to their website
Scuba Diving with Nemoz (they picked us up on the Hilton Dock)
