A Visit to Montagnana Italy

A Visit to Montagnana Italy

We were lucky enough to attend a very special event near Montagnana Italy. Montagnana is located between Padua and Verona. I had never heard of Montagnana before or know anyone who has visited this special place.  The ancient walls of Montagnana were built in the eleventh century to protect the town and its people. It is one of the best preserved medieval military villages in all of Europe.

Here is how we spent our time….

Guided walking tour of the city. Some of the highlights we saw were the medieval wall, San Zeno Castle and Ezzelinas Tower, Duomo of Santa Maria Assunta.

Where we stayed……..

Castello Bevillacqua which now is a hotel, restaurant and hosts special events like weddings. The castle was built in 1336 and was originally surrounded by a wide moat and three rings of walls,  our room was located in one of the castle towers. Located outside of Montagnana and you need a car or driver to get there. For more information visit Castello Bevillacqua Website
